New Owl stuffed toy or pincushion made in the hoop, no sewing

I am working on a series of pincushions, although they can be used as stuffed animals as they have no loose parts or buttons.  They are made completely in the hoop, no sewing.  Depending on how creative you want to get, you may need to hoop some parts separately.  Click HERE to purchase this owl in the hoop embroidery design

HAPPY HAUNTINGS CRICUT CARTRIDGE

Well i finally had a chance to make that really neat haunted house on the cricut cartridge, thanks to my friend Nettie, who as i cut, assembled and read the instructions, lol.  Here is the final result.   I cut it at six inches and used black and yellow cardstock.

My contribution to the "Italian Basket" for a school raffle

I was asked for a $5.00 donation, but as you well know, i couldn't just do that.  I wanted to make something special that you couldnt buy with the money we would all donate.  Here is what i came up with.
Two hand towels, four napkins, and four wine glass coasters.

Lace page marker bookmarks in the hoop!

I saw a few appliqued in the hoop versions online, but i wanted some for gifts that were fancier.  So I came up with this freestanding lace/fabric combo.  I have the embroidery designs for sale on my WEBSITE on the bottom of the page.  Most formats are offered, and more can be created, just pick dst and add a note in paypal or email me directly

There are three different versions and each set contains all the letters of the alphabet plus a blank one to add your own font or embroidery design.

Here are the appliqued versions, also for sale.

These will make great gifts for teachers, and women of all ages.  I have some "manly" versions as well as some for teens, so check back soon as I need to make the samples for them.

Vintage Jewelry

I found a great site for supplies and i am awaiting the arrival of my second order.  In the meantime, i am trying to come up with some vintage looks for the brass, bronze and copper filigree findings i bought.
I hope to sell these at the wright college arts and crafts fair on sept 12.  Whatever I dont sell i will either put on my etsy site or website, i havent decided which as of yet.  Contact me if you wish to purchase any, as with most of my jewelry items, they start off as one of a kinds.

So I guess i made some progress, if you like any of my creations, feel free to email me.  If you are within the chicagoland area, come to the show, they look better in person.

Paper Doilies dyed with food coloring

I saw this on another blog and decided to try it with my paper roses.  I got carried away and dyed the whole pack of doilies. It was so much fun, sort of like dying easter eggs, but they last a lot longer.  Im thinking some nesting shapes on top of them.  After dipping them in the solution of gel food coloring and water, i laid them to dry on a few paper towels.  When completely dry, i ironed them.  They really didn't need it though. A few of them were not as nice as i thought, there was only one doily, when actually there was two stuck together.

I dyed the swirl roses that was the other days freebie, but they arent completed as of yet.

Paper baby shoes

I've been creating baby shoes to sew out in the hoop for my embroidery machine.  I love the way they all turn out identical if i need to make more than one pair.  I decided why not make them out of paper and cut them with my Cricut Machine.  I printed the pattern that i had designed for embroidery and took it into inkscape to manually trace.  It still needs a bit tweeking, but i like it.  I would recommend also cutting a sole that was made of cardstock, as i had only used patterned paper and it is very thin.  I still need to test it for thicker materials.  I think it would be great for a gift box topper or a baby shower favor.  I'll keep you posted when I will offer them for sale on my website.  Hope you like them.

Sympathy card no. 2

Another dear friend's husband passed last week so I made this special card for her.  She is an avid quilter and all around wonderful person.  It didnt turn out as well as i had expected, but with a little glitter i was less disappointed. i tried to outline the areas with a marker after appying the ribbon which soaked up some marker.
Wont be doing that again, lol.  Anyway it was my first attempt at an easel card.

Roses Roses and new Baby shoes

I finally got a good sample of a easy paper rose i was working on.  It is basically the same principal as the roses i used on my first sympathy card, but these roll up nicer.

The file is free to anyone wanting it in svg form.  Click HERE to download

I also finished a set of In the hoop baby shoes for smaller size hoops. I had a request from a lady who has an old pfaff 7570 and was interested in the baby shoes but her embroidery machine only had a smaller hoop, the multi hoop was too thin, so i created the basic girls shoe in three parts instead of two.

Here is a sample of the shoe i created.  To purchase the design for your embroidery machine click HERE

That's all for today, I have another wake tonight for a dear friend's husband.  That's number two
this month. :-(

I will post the card i made her tomorrow.
