Wow, looks like i havent posted in a year.  things have been crazy and i havent had time to be creative.

I recently took a break from orders of dog clothing and decided to start designing things again.

Here is the result of my hiatus.  Custom shoe wings designs.  I will sell some at a local craft show but i also have them up for sale on my etsy site for Embroidery designs too.  This way embroidery enthusiasts can also make and sell this cool add ons for your shoes.  they are sized for adult/teen shoes now but i will resize for childrens shoes as soon as i get a pair to measure, as all my children have adult feet now. lol. Etsy also had a convenient instant download on their site now, which I love. I have nine designs total, Angel, bat, butterfly, dragon, Fairy, flames,  gargoyle, ladybug and celtic wings

Finally getting the hang of my new zing cutter, Barrettes from upcycled cans with barrette covers made in the hoop with embroidery machine (my design) and display cards created with my zing cutter. lol all three of my crafts into one project.

Wow, I've been working on these since 2003.  I've finally finished some samples for the block of the month demos at the local sewing store.  I will also be demonstrating this technique at the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo in Schuamburg, IL, at the Viking Booth #

I have alot more completed but not actual samples, all will be on sale for purchase individually or in sets at VDBC website with instant downloads in multi-format embroideries.

Paperpiecing in the hoop is a paperpiecing pattern digitized to let your embroidery machine stitch it perfect for you.  Most designs are made up of four squares that when sewn together create a perfect quilt block and unlike traditional paperpiecing, there is no paper to remove afterward.

Files will be uploaded to the website this weekend, so be on the lookout for them come March 19, 2012.

Paperpiecing in the hoop block of the month

I am finally getting around to promoting my paperpiecing in the hoop designs for machine embroidery.
I created most of these about six years ago, or maybe even more.  I made a quilt for my daughter and I am working on one for my son.  Somehow I  never put them up for sale on my website, although there was a short run on etsy a few years back.

I was asked to do a demo at the Schaumburg Quilting show this spring in the Viking booth, so I started making samples.  I think these would be great hands on classes for the local sewing stores here in Chicago.  I would like to promote these as  "block of the month" classes.  We can enjoy the company of others, learn a new technique and make a quilt or bed runner.

My sample is going to eventually be a bed runner as these are becoming very popular now.

I also created mini 2-3 inch key chain fobs of a few of the designs, these are created entirely in the hoop and make great gifts for quilters.

Christening shoes and bonnet

I made satin shoes and a bonnet for my neighbors baby girl, to go with her dress.  Here are the pics, the shoes are my in the hoop design, no extra embroidery, the lace on the shoes and bonnet were digitized by me and stitched on water soluble stabilizer, then sewn to the hat and shoes.  Matching lace for the dress was out of stock everywhere, so i made my own.

New Owl stuffed toy or pincushion made in the hoop, no sewing

I am working on a series of pincushions, although they can be used as stuffed animals as they have no loose parts or buttons.  They are made completely in the hoop, no sewing.  Depending on how creative you want to get, you may need to hoop some parts separately.  Click HERE to purchase this owl in the hoop embroidery design

Roses Roses and new Baby shoes

I finally got a good sample of a easy paper rose i was working on.  It is basically the same principal as the roses i used on my first sympathy card, but these roll up nicer.

I also finished a set of In the hoop baby shoes for smaller size hoops. I had a request from a lady who has an old pfaff 7570 and was interested in the baby shoes but her embroidery machine only had a smaller hoop, the multi hoop was too thin, so i created the basic girls shoe in three parts instead of two.
